A spectacular performance of Brahms' monumental Ein Deutsches Requiem,  performed as a service of remembrance for ANZAC Day at St Paul's Cathedral.

 Corpus Medicorum, in partnership with The Orchestra Project and The Vocal Soloists of Melbourne will perform Brahms' Ein deutsches Requiem under the direction of Fabian Russell  as part of a service of remembrance to mark the occasion of the 110th Anniversary of ANZAC Day and the 80th Anniversary of VE Day.

There are few bands that cut through the noise and distractions of the world to bring you a pure elemental truth or feeling like the Icelandic  band Sigur Rós.

This world famous band will perform with the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic Orchestra’s 41-piece ensemble and their most intimate and emotionally direct album to date, ÁTTA. Since their formation, the much-lauded Icelandic band has masterfully blended ambient electronics, orchestral and rock instruments, with the haunting falsetto of frontman Jónsi at the helm.


Fans can look forward to a captivating performance that blends fan favourites with their latest album.

The Final of the 17th RMP ARIA and Handel’s Dixit Dominus

Regarded by many as one of Handel’s finest works, the work is also Handel’s earliest surviving autograph. The work was written in the florid baroque style of the period and is scored for five vocal soloists (SSATB), five-part chorus, string orchestra and continuo.

Bruckner's Te Deum and motets

Bruckner's powerful Te Deum is regarded as the composer's most important choral work and Bruckner himself regarded it "the pride of his life". It was composed between 1881-1884 and Bruckner dedicated the work to "his dear Lord" with the words "Ad maiorem Dei gloriam" (For the greater glory of God), "in gratitude for having safely brought me through so much anguish in Vienna." Hear a spectacular new version for brass quintet and organ (arranged by Johannes Ebenbauer), along with a selection of Bruckner's most powerful motets and works for brass and organ including: Os Justi meditabitur, Ecce Sccerdos magnus, Locus Iste, Tota Pulchra es, and Afferentur regi. Other works will include 2 Aequali in C minor for 3 trombones, Präludium (Perger Präludium) in C major, WAB 129  and Fugue in D minor, WAB 125.  The acclaimed Royal Melbourne Philharmomnic Choir will be jopined by a stella cast of four magnificant Australian soloists for this spectacular program in historic All Saints Church.

Hear one of Europe’s finest chamber choirs, Neuer Kammerchor Berlin in their debut Melbourne performance. Founded in October 2016 by Adrian Emans, the Neuer Kammerchor Berlin has quickly become one of the most renowned chamber choirs of Germany’s Capital Berlin.  The choir is under the direction of  Adrian Emans is the founder and musical director of the Neuer Kammerchor Berlin, the Charité Chor Berlin and the Neuer Männerchor Berlin. Performing an exciting program of music, representing composers such as Nigel Butterley, Josef Rheinberger, Paul Stanhope, and Valentin Silvestrov. They will be joined by the Royal Melbourne Phiharmonic Choir, performing motets by Franz Biebl,  Heinrich Schütz and Anton Bruckner in a spectacular concert of choral grandeur.

In the opulent surrounding of the Melbourne Town Hall, this special evening celebrated the Royal Children's Hospital, its rich heritage, and its bright future while acknowledging the important role of philanthropy in providing world leading paediatric care at the RCH. Created in partnership with Peter Jones Special Events, the event raised over 5.7 million dollars.  It featured a performance by the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic Choir and sensational young soloist Akeira, conducted by Andrew Wailes.

Hosted by The City of Whitehorse, the anual Spring Festival brings together thousands of people for a series of outdoor concerts, performances, displays and stalls. Box Hill Chorale performed a concert of light choral classics, accompanied by Sam Hartley,

Flemington Racecourse (and Live TV broadcast)

Members of the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic Choir (cond. Andrew Wailes)  joined the Melbourne Symphony Orch (cond. Benjamin Northey) to perform to over 80,000 people in glorious sunshine at the Melbourne Cup.                                  Pre-race entertainment featured a medley of the "unofficial anthems of Australia". With the support of the RMP Choir and MSO, Mahalia Barnes belted out "You’re the Voice", John Paul Young sang  "Love is in the Air" and Michael Cormick gave a great rendition of

 "This is the Moment"...

Australian Citizenship Ceremony

  6th November 2019 at 5.30 pm,

Swanston Hall, Melbourne Town Hall 

Hosted by The Right Honourable Lord MayorSally Capp, the ceremony featured musical performances by the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic Choir, accompanied by Calvin Bowman, conducted by Andrew Wailes   

Christmas with the Ballarat Symphony

 30th November 2019 at 7.30 pm, 

 Wendouree Centre for the Performing Arts, Ballarat 

Box Hill Chorale performed a fun "Christmas Caramels" concert as the guests of the Ballarat Symphony Orchestra. BHC was joined by members of the Ballarat and Colac Choral Societies. The concert featured Haydn's “Cello Concerto in D” (cello Lachlan Dent), Vaughan Williams’  “Fantasia on Christmas Carols”(baritone soloist Andrew Wailes), and  BSO Conductor Gyula Cseszkó. In the second half of the concert, Andrew Wailes conducted a tribute to Ballarat born composer William G James. 


Handel's Messiah

The 36th Sir Bernard Heinze Memorial Concert, presented by the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic. Another world-record breaking performance of Handel's Messiah.

Whitehorse Carols

   15th December  2019 at 6.45 pm, 

Whitehorse Centre, Nunawading

There were performances from iconic carols entertainers Marina Prior, David Hobson and Michael Cormick, with David Cameron on piano, as well as stirring items from the combined Churches of North Blackburn, the Box Hill City Band and of course Box Hill Chorale, accompanied by Sam Hartley and conducted by Andrew Wailes.

Melbourne University Choral Society,  Majestic Brass Quintet, and and Director of Music at St John's Christopher Cook (organ), conducted by Andrew Wailes. Traditional Christmas music, including'O Come All Ye Faithful, 'It Came Upon the Midnight Clear', 'Hark the Herald Angels Sing'  by Sir David Willcocks, as well as Handel's 'Hallelujah' Chorus and 'Joy to the World', Herbert Howells'Here is the Little Door',  Trevor Manor's 'This Night My Heart Rejoices', and Sally De Ford's 'He is Born the Child Divine'. Service music by Harold Darke in F Major and responses by Michael Dudman.
